Happy Father's Day!

Rich got a gas grill for Father's Day. We purchased it a week early and have been putting it to good use! Since last Friday we've grilled rib eye steak (twice), chicken breast (twice), hamburgers (twice) and cheddar bratwurst.
You can see our old red charcoal grill in the background, it came with the house and is rusted and falling apart. Which is why we only used it twice in the past 5 years. I'm so happy we can finally get rid of it!

I did a lot of research on this grill, more than I intended to in fact. I set out to buy a grill I saw on sale for about $150 in the Lowes ad, but after reading reviews online about all the grills in that price range I figured I better get something a little more lasting. So I checked with my brother-in-law Mike about his new grill (read the blog about his grill here) which I had been admiring and he said that it could be considered overkill for the casual griller. I'm glad he pointed that out because it led to me to my final purchase of the Weber Spirit E-210 it's a very nice little 2-burner grill that will last us a long time. It's the least expensive full size Weber model you can buy. We're very happy with it!

Today was my first time using the new grill, as it was Father's Day I gave Rich a break and made him a delicious dinner of bone-in Rib Eye Steak and baked potatoes. Smith's had a really good deal on the steak and it was wonderful!

I also set out to make the day nice for Rich by doing his 'Honey-Do' list. Only it took him a bit to catch on. He was a little bewildered by all the random tasks I was doing until I explained to him, "I'm doing all the things I want you to do!" I know it's kind of a backwards gift because it's really the stuff I wanted done, but now I don't have to ask him to do it (or be annoyed that he's supposed to do it and it's sitting undone)!
