Moira's a Big Girl!

I am so proud of my sweet Moira. We transitioned her to a toddler bed on Pioneer Day and it was seamless, I'm so happy! Even with the fireworks going off that night it didn't phase her.

She loves her new bed and doesn't get out and play instead of sleeping like I was worried would happen.

But that's not all! We have been full on potty training for the past week, meaning no more diapers except at night (and the occasional outing, I'm not quite ready to brave the toilets some places).

In the book I read they said the key is to reward them when they are "clean and dry." So about every 30 minutes +/- at random we check and if she's "clean and dry" she gets a treat (a graham cracker).

Moira's been so good and we're only averaging about 1 accident a day, so I'm feeling very confident that she'll have it down before the baby comes!

In preparation for the baby we've been cleaning and moving things around. At first I was thinking they would share a room right off, but in my Tetris loving brain I found a way to reorganize things in the office to make room for a crib. As you can see it's not quite ready yet. We still need to buy another crib mattress and find "homes" for a few more things. But soon the office will be part nursery as well.
The only problem is I get most of my work done while Moira is napping, so if that pattern continues (i.e. I work when the new baby naps too) it's going to be tricky if I need to use my desktop, printer or fax machine. But new babies sleep like a log, right? And I probably won't be working much till I regain my post-natal sanity anyway.

I'm sure everything will work out just fine, at least I keep telling myself that! = )

Maybe Moira can teach Andrew now. He just doesn't want to go to the big boy potty most of the time. Grrr.

...and people think video games are a waste of time. Good job using your tetris skills.

OMG! She's getting to be such a big girl. She'll be all ready to help out with her sister when she arrives.

You're awsome Moira! I had two or more in diapers for way too many years. If I remember right, new borns go to sleep with too much noise to deal with the over stimulation. So the fax machine should help the new one go to sleep. Looking forward to meeting the newest addition to your family. How much time do you have left?

Nice job Moira. That is neat. Zachary is working on potty training. And I think we have gotten Spencer all potty trained. We haven't had an accident (night or day) for over a month! So wonderful! Can't wait for new baby. You will have to send pictures!!!!

Good Job Moira! I think I'm almost getting brave enough to start Allie. I really like your idea of rewarding every half hour for a clean/dry diaper. Sounds like that's right up our alley. (no pun intended.) Can't wait for the new baby!!!
